Q -1 H ow did a book become a turning point in Richard Ebright's life ?
Ans - Ebright's mother brought a book for him titled' The Travels of Monarch X' that opened the world of science to Richard. After reading this book he got to know how monarch butterflies migrate to Central America. This led to him towards other projects and experiments. Finally, he became a great scientist.
Q - 2 How did his mother help him ?
Ans - Ebright's mother was a source of great inspiration for him.She always encouraged him. She took him on trips and bought scientific equipment for him.In the day she brought friends for him and in night she herself worked with him.She presented him the book, ' The Travels of Monarch X'. That book changed Richard's life forever.
Q - 3 What lesson does Ebright learn when he does not win anything at a science fair?
Ans - Ebright exhibited slide of frog tissues at a science fair.But he did not get any prize in this fair.Now he learnt an important lesson that science is not just about display, only a real experiment would win him a prize. It is about projects and experiments.The subject he knew was about the insect work.So he began conducting experiments from that day onward.

Ans - He undertook many projects and experiments. In the eighth - grade he worked to find the cause of a viral disease that killed all Monarch caterpillars.
Next year he worked on Viceroys butterflies to show that they copied Monarch.He found that Monarch don't taste good to birds.
Then he studied golden spots on the monarch pupa and discovered a new hormone. After that he also found out how cells read their D.N.A.

Ans - There are three qualities that make a scientist.The first and most important is rate mind.
The next one is the presence of curiosity and last is will to win for right reasons.
